Welcome to Open Hands Therapy
I am a licensed psychotherapist with 25 years of experience in healthcare and education. My clinical practice emphasizes self-compassion and acquiring life tools. I use a variety of approaches, adapted to personal needs and areas for growth. My goal is to support You in a way that You find meaningful and helpful. My specialties include anxiety, depression and children and adolescents.
I received my graduate degree in clinical practice and social service management from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. I have a Specialization in Child and Family Well-being, hold a Certificate in Sand Tray Therapy and am a Certified Trainer in Trauma Informed Care.
Previously, I was a Director of an alternative high school for girls with emotional health issues. Currently, I work part time at a local psychiatric hospital where I facilitate groups for clients challenged with addiction issues and people struggling with psychosis.
I believe creating community and a sense of belonging is part of wellness, so I try to stay involved myself! I was a past Co-Chair on a Patient and Family Advisory Council at FCCC and was a Board Member of a local food cupboard. For fun, I take acting and improv classes in Philadelphia!
