Anya Surnitsky, LCSW, Certified Daring WayTM Facilitator
Anya is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with adults to find the courage to accept themselves, flaws and all. She runs various 8-week therapy groups, workshops, and meetups based on The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™, work based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The Daring Way™ has become a core passion of her work and practice as she sees it bring transformational change and growth to clients who commit to the process. It is important to Anya that she really get to know and understand each person she sees; she attends to each person’s needs and the issues they are bringing into therapy without judgment in order to build trust and a strong working alliance. Anya works to guide clients to find and remove the barriers in their lives that have been preventing them from flourishing.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Haverford College. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Social Service(MSS) from the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She also has a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from Drexel University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work (PSCSW), and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She became a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator in 2014. Prior to opening her practice at Park Center Wellness, she worked with individuals, couples, families and groups at Counseling Center at Heritage in Montgomeryville, PA. Anya has worked in various public and private community mental health settings working with people with severe mental illness and substance abuse, as well as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-harm, and adjustment issues.
