Solution-Focused Individual Therapy for Teens

Working with the right therapist can help your child gain insight and support while learning new strategies to manage all types of life challenges including depression, anxiety, poor peer relations, academic difficulties, and family transitions.

Drawing from advanced graduate school training, I use strategies from the following therapeutic approaches:
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Reality Therapy

I welcome the opportunity to help teens:
  • Collaborate on a plan of action
  • Gain insight about themselves and the world around them
  • Cultivate healthy practices and means of communication
  • Understand the consequences of his or her choices

Consultation and Coaching for Parents
I’m an independent facilitator of the Parenting the Love and Logic Way™ curriculum.  I teach this curriculum privately to parents and also in group classes. This parent training program holds a 30-year track record of success and is designed to help parents:

  • Raise respectful and responsible kids
  • Create teens who resist society’s pressures to experiment with drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, and other dangerous behaviors
  • Understand how to support all parents’ attempts to create a personally responsible population…instead of undermining such efforts

Distance Counseling (Online Therapy)
In addition to traditional face-to-face therapy, I offer Online Therapy to adult clients (18 and over).
  • Existing technology makes online therapy accessible, convenient and more secure than ever before
  • Clients can supplement their face-to-face therapy with online therapy OR use online therapy exclusively. An occasional or series of email chats benefits clients trying to balance a busy life schedule
  • Plus, the process of expressing one’s thoughts and feelings in written form can lead to more meaningful self-reflection and greater self-disclosure, which can enhance the positive impact of therapy
Please contact me by phone to discuss whether Distance Counseling is right for you and your family at 215.264.3839.
